Rule 236 – Contents of the Statement of response
Print this page1. The Statement of response shall contain:
(a) the names of the respondent and the respondent’s representative;
(b) postal and electronic addresses for service on the respondent and the names and addresses of the persons authorised to accept service;
(c) the action number of the appeal file; and
(d) a response to the grounds of appeal.
2. The respondent may support the decision of the Court of First Instance on grounds other than those given in the decision.

Rule 13.1(q) RoP (request that document need not be translated in Statement of claim) applies mutatis mutandis for other submissions, although not explicitly for a Statement of response in appeal proceedings. (R. 236 RoP). A party in appeal proceedings will only be relieved from the duty to provide translations of documents filed first with the Court of Appeal if the Court of Appeal accepts this (R. 7 RoP).
