Claimant (a Taiwanese company) ordered to provide security for costs in the amount of EUR 200,000. (Article 69(4) UPCA, Rule 158.1 RoP).
Enforcing a cost decision in Taiwan would be at least unduly burdensome, based on expert opinion. Taiwan is not a member of any international agreement which would govern the enforcement of foreign judgments in Taiwan. Based on the expert opinion, the timeframe to be expected for enforcement in Taiwan can vary from few months up to six years.
