Practice
Harry's practice spans telecommunications, printing systems, electronics, computer systems, processor architecture, amongst other hi-tech disciplines, with particular emphasis on mobile wireless communications following his time as an RF engineer for Mercury One-to-One.
Harry trained at IBM as a Patent Attorney and developed an understanding of the relationship between intellectual property and computer related inventions. In particular, Harry developed an in-depth knowledge of the patentability of computer software within European and USA jurisdictions. During this period, Harry drafted and prosecuted patent applications in disciplines spanning the full breadth of IBM’s technology.
Harry has a detailed working knowledge of various 3GPP standard such as LTE-A, LTE-Pro, WiMax, and the full range of 802/11 standards and is retained to draft patent applications that are specifically directed to those standards. Harry also represents other clients in respect of Global Positioning Systems and Unmanned Vehicle technology as well as Universities.
In 1996, Harry joined a large commercial law firm to complement the technical capabilities in the firms patents practice. While there, Harry qualified as both a European and UK Patent Attorney.
Harry is well regarded for his commercially focussed patent application and prosecution. He leads one of the most prestigious and largest teams of electronics attorneys in Europe, known for its depth of knowledge and commercial outlook.
Harry has been a Partner with HGF since 2000.
