Paul Hylarides is chairman of the executive committee at Arnold + Siedsma. As managing partner and European patent attorney, he is of the opinion that not only does advice have to be excellent from a technical and legal point of view, but the economic aspects must not be forgotten either. Clearly, advice ought to be commercially useful to the client too.
Paul is mainly involved in protecting inventions that relate to physics and electrical engineering.He has specific expertise when it comes to information technology and communication technology, software, medical applications, optics, seismic data processing, nanotechnology (including microfluidic devices and semiconductors) and mechanics.
In addition Paul has a great deal of experience in conducting opposition procedures at the European Patent Office in order to defend or nullify a patent. He is extremely talented in conducting oral proceedings.His vast powers of persuasion have ensured him success in several national and international cases, including preventing rejection of a patent application.
