Practice
Lucy’s extensive experience covers a broad spectrum of subject matter, from simple engineering, such as joist hangers and packaging, through water treatment systems to welding, automotive and oil and gas technology. With many long standing clients including both global and local companies, Lucy is very well respected for a pragmatic, commercial approach.
Lucy has considerable experience from previous roles in house and in private practice of co-ordinating global patent and design portfolios for both SMEs and corporate clients, working closely with their in house or external counsel to devise worldwide filing and prosecution strategies. Her practice includes infringement and validity work as well as Oppositions and Appeals before the EPO for large corporate clients.
Her practice areas extend to mechanical engineering, packaging technology, building and construction products, contact cleaning, lifting equipment, safety equipment, high tensile rope, water treatment technology, household cleaning products, plumbing equipment, roofing systems, contamination containment, offshore oil and gas technology, automotive and aerospace. Lucy also advises clients in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering and medical devices.
Lucy was a member of the management team, a Director and also Head of Mechanical Engineering Group with a large Patent and Trade Mark practice before becoming a partner at HGF in February 2017. She is also an accredited mediator. Lucy’s approach is personal and focuses on delivering effective, valuable solutions for clients across a wide range of technologies.
