Kieran holds a first class Master’s degree with honours in Physics from the University of Durham. In his final year at university Kieran specialised in the fabrication and characterisation of magnetic nanostructures.

Professionally, Kieran handles the drafting and prosecution of patent applications for domestic and non-UK clients. Kieran has attended hearings before the European Patent Office's Examining Division, Opposition Division and Boards of Appeal, as well as the UK Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC), acheiving positive outcomes for his clients in each forum.

Having progressed quickly through the professional patent exams, Kieran is both a Chartered Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney, and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Manchester. Additionally, Kieran won the Michael Jones Prize for nationally achieving the highest mark in one of the UK professional qualifying exams.
