Petri is member of the executive committee at Arnold + Siedsma. Petri enjoys the challenge of working together with a client not only to deal with the technical aspects of a patent portfolio, but also to deliberate strategically about the further development and expansion of the portfolio. She specialises particularly in plant biotechnology, especially plant breeding. She has been involved in a number of complex international infringement cases in international disputes and opposition cases at the European Patent Office, even up to the Enlarged Board of Appeal (G2/04).
Petri studied Biology at Radboud University Nijmegen, specialising in molecular biology, biochemistry and internal medicine. Since joining Arnold + Siedsma in 1989, she has acquired substantial experience in grant procedures, oppositions and appeal procedures at the European Patent Office in the fields of biotechnology, pharmacy, food technology, environmental technology, medical sciences, diagnostics, contraceptives and plant breeding.
Petri has been involved with a number of clients from the very start, setting up and managing their patent portfolio. To do this, she has maintained close contact with Research & Development departments and management. On this basis, she helps to define a company's patent strategy.
