Practice

Sandra Stolzenburg-Wiemer has been an attorney since 2001 and advises and represents German and international clients in various fields of intellectual property law, in particular in all relevant aspects of trademark and design law (including customs border seizures), unfair competition law (with a particular focus on counterfeits), including the law on the advertising of pharmaceutical and medicinal products, as well as in matters of copyright and media law. She has extensive litigation experience, in particular with preliminary proceedings, as well as experience in conducting application and cancellation proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) and EUIPO.

Her particular industrial focus is therefore on companies seeking corresponding legal advice and representation, in particular in the sectors of consumer products, household goods, confectionary and beverage, cosmetics, fashion, footwear, accessories, watches and jewelry, as well as in the advertising, entertainment and media industry.

Sandra studied at the Universities of Münster, Barcelona and Heidelberg. She gained intensive intercultural experience in the USA while working several months in a large law firm in San Francisco during her legal clerkship and living five years in Houston.

After completing her legal clerkship, she worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Civil, Commercial and Corporate Law at the University of Düsseldorf, where she obtained her PhD. Her doctoral thesis on a topic related to media law dealt with the issues of providing legal advice, unfair competition and constitutional law.

Afterwards, Sandra spent several years practicing in a large international law firm, advising and representing German and international clients especially on matters of trademark law, unfair competition law as well as on media and copyright law.

She has published and lectured on various topics relating to media and copyright law.
